Mission of Half Moon Bay High School

Half Moon Bay High School is committed to maintaining an atmosphere in which students develop the desire to learn by working in partnership with parents, staff, and community. Our school provides a strong comprehensive education for all of our students in order to prepare for and value citizenship, employment, and further education. Through educational excellence we cultivate participation, enthusiasm, and success, all of which prepare our students to function in a rapidly changing world.

COUGAR SPIRIT

  • Half Moon Bay High School had a graduation rate of 98.6% in 2018, the 2nd highest in San Mateo County
  • 57% of our students meet UC/CSU requirements, the third highest in San Mateo County
  • 16% of 2018 graduates earned a weighted Grade Point Average of 4.0 or higher
  • In 2018, the HMBHS football team won a Northern California State Championship and made it first appearance ever in the State Championships
  • The Boys basketball won a Central Coast Section Championship
  • The Boys and Girls Wrestling teams won their respective PAL championships
