ONLINE TUTORING SERVICES
Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. They tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics and more!
San Mateo County Library, including Brainfuse and HelpNow, offers help from real, live tutors right at the library via the Internet. Note: Your library card # is required
Tutoring is available for grades 3 - Adult Learners seven days a week from 1 PM - 10 PM. This program connects students to a real live tutor. Anyone can access the service from within the library or from home by visiting the San Mateo County Library eBranch, enter their grade level and the subject they need help in, and within a few minutes or less are connected to an expert tutor.
Tutor and student meet in a friendly online classroom where they can:
- Chat through secure IM
- Show work or illustrate examples using a suite of student-friendly tools
- Share and mark-up lessons, files, and approved websites
- Save, archive, and print sessions for later reference
All Core Subjects Offered (grades 3-12):
Math - including Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus
Science - including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Science
