Concurrent Enrollment

CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT @ CSM, SKYLINE, OR CANADA COLLEGE

Students interested in concurrently enrolling at a community college during the Fall, Spring, or Summer sessions, should follow the steps of enrollment below:

  1. External Course Request (Only needed to place on high school transcript)

    • Students interested in receiving high school credit, MUST submit an External Course Request Form in addition to the Concurrent Enrollment Form. Students who have been approved is responsible for bringing an official transcript at the end of the semester so that the course and grade may be placed on the high school transcript. Please see the Student Planning Guide for more information. Without this approved form, courses will not be placed on the HS Transcript.

    • For instructions on how to request an official transcript from CSM/Canada/Skyline, please click here. Please note, all official transcripts can be requested via their WebSmart portal and mailed directly to: HMBHS, Attn: Registrar.

    • If you don't want the course on your high school transcript, please proceed to step 2.
  2. Apply to the college of choice

  3. See High School Counselor

    • Meet with high school counselor for course recommendation, to discuss courses eligible for credit towards high school graduation, and to receive counselor's approval. Most courses are available to high school students. For a listing of restricted courses visit smccd.edu/collegeconnection. For a list of college courses available, please visit https://webschedule.smccd.edu/

  4. Take Placement Test (if required)

    • Prior to enrolling, you must meet course prerequisite requirements based on placement test scores. See online catalog for specific course prerequisites, placement testing dates, times, and locations.

  5. Submit "Course Request Form"

    • Submit via scanned email, mail, fax or in person the completed and signed College Connection Course Request Form to the Office of Admissions and Records at the college you wish to attend. (See college contact information on Concurrent Enrollment Form).

  6. Register for Courses on or after Your "Registration Appointment Date"

    • "Registration Appointment Date" will give you access to online registration. You will receive a college assigned user ID (Student ID G#) and password (typically your MM/DD/YY) to view your appointment date and register for courses at websmart.smccd.edu
